I found a bug: there is no game here.

Please do not submit unfinished items or tests. Please submit finished items only. That's what Newgrounds is for.

Gameware responds:

It's not a bug, look everyone, i'm just working on it! It will take maybe until december!! The bugs might be gone by then! THIS IS A MENU TEST!

Unfortunately, it's games like this that make me hate TGF2. :\

ghettoflower responds:

This is klik n play, not tgf2 actually. Just thought I'd wait almost a year just to tell you that. It was converted with tgf2 but I didn't change the production or anything.

I suppose this could've been fun, but the control scheme ruined it.

Tips:
1. Don't use system keys for controls. Shift and Ctrl are system keys. If you hit Shift a certain number of times, or hit Ctrl plus another key, it can really screw things up. Don't use them.

2. Use controls that are easy on the hands. The controls on this game use arrows on one hand, which is good, cuz it's comfortable. The other keys are difficult to get to. Use A, S, D, and/or Space. They're comfortable and natural to use.

3. Use correct spelling and grammar. Reading the story throughout the game was rough. There were so many errors in the grammar that I felt like I was reading something written by a 4th grader. If you intend to be an indie game developer, then you have to pay attention to such things. Poor quality spelling, grammar, and punctuation will absolutely ruin your credibility!

Hope that helps. :)

Noted: I will use your words to make better games some time in the future

Well, this is diabolical. Well done.

If I had any problem, it'd be that climbing ladders is like threading a needle. You can hang to the left or right side of the ladder and still go up or down with no problem, but when you get to the floor, you have to be spot on or you can't get thru. The opening to get thru floors when on, or trying to get on a ladder is annoyingly tight when the controls are normal. If you opened up the area needed to get thru the floor, it'd help tremendously.

Also, spelling errors:

-At the beginning, when he's telling about the directional indicator, he says it's in the upper "rihgt"
-At the first timed level, the last screen says it's getting "though" instead of tough.

I stopped, but I don't know what level. You might want to add the level number somewhere. Then if someone has questions, instead of "that level where the spikes are there, but you go with the keys, but not the WASD ones..." you can know it's level 12.

cupnoodles responds:

Thanks. I appreciate the feedback! I'll fix the typos and look into the other issues as well!

This was actually a pretty cool game. The music, environment, and characters were all well done. The only, but biggest issue was horrible lag. Even on the lowest quality setting, at times it was delaying inputs so much that you ended up correcting when you didn't need to, and thus, got screwed up (usually died). If that lag could be removed, the game would do very well. Maybe it's trying to plot out the entire level even though you can only see a small part of it...? I hope you can get that corrected, because this could be really good. I played only to the up jumping on the pink blocks with the saws on both sides.

Chaoclypse responds:

You might wanna try closing your other tabs or something and try again, it gets good after that part! (Hint: Go right instead of left.)

Soundboards in general are not very interesting. Look at your scores. Sorry. :\

So why comment on something that doesn't grab your interest? Seems a little counter productive to me. Haters gotta hate. Have a good day. :)

At last! Someone did something new and interesting with Snake!

There are so many versions of Snake already on here, and people submit all the time, with little more than a color change. This is new and interesting. Interesting Tidbits that help, too. Nicely done, Miss Abigail.

Abigayl responds:

Thank you. I was not aware that Snake is a popular game here on NG... tis my first day here (been a member for all of 1 hour :P). I'm glad it's differentiated from the rest and that someone likes my tidbits :)

"Collapse" from the ICO soundtrack! :D

Excellent choice for music! The game works. It's not exactly the most challenging game, but it works, and is enjoyable while you play, so good job on that.

It's got to have more added to make it last, but you did good on this, so I look forward to the next one.

Digitaleyes responds:

Yes! I'm glad you recognized it :)

I plan on adding more, this was just a demo type thing I uploaded because I was excited about my first ever playable creation.

Thank you very much for your thoughts!

Please stop submitting bits and pieces of your game. Finishe the entire game, and THEN submit it.

I need to hear people to know how can i make game better. I will update game at this post and dont create another. And its my first game i am in little nervous.

This is a Stencyl tutorial. Don't submit whatever comes out of a tutorial. Many people do that, so this is already on here. Do you know how many times this has been put up already? Here's a few:

http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view /592929 You didn't even change the music.
http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view /591613 This one got blammed for being a copy, but I still had the link.

There are others. These are the ones that I could find quickly, though.

Don't feel bad. It's a typical noob mistake, since you haven't been around a while. Hopefully, though, this review will help you to realize what goes on around here, since you've only been using Stencyl a short time. People get Stencyl or The Games Factory 2 and they do a tutorial and they decide to submit what they created. The problem is that 75 other people have done the same tutorial within the last month, so 74 versions of the same game came thru. (One person had the sense to hold out.) If the game works 100%, then it helps, but more often than not, the tutorial produces a game that isn't 100% functional.

Listen to what people say in their reviews. They'll offer tips to help improve (well, some will). For this game, I'd suggest changing the directional control setup. When you run into a wall, you stay stuck to the wall. Sometimes, games will add a modifier that will turn the car slowly when it noses into a wall to make it easier to get out. When you give gas and you're at a wall, it noses you back into the wall instead of angling the car away from it. Same with boxes and cones. Make them move out of the way when you drive so players don't have to back up to remove them. That's kinda technical, though, and I don't know if the software will allow changes like that.

Next, please DO what people tell you in their reviews BEFORE you submit another game. That way you've actually done something to improve what you have and you won't be submitting the same stuff over and over like some people do.

Lastly, you could submit a new version with every change, but why waste your time and ours? Please finish your items before you send them in. Why submit half a game, y'know? Don't just finish it til it works, but finish it to the best it can be, and THEN submit it. That way, you won't have an account filled with bits and pieces of things.

Hope this helps.
