You should simplify the controls. If I'm using arrows or WASD, make W or UP be the jump button, not the space bar. If I have to control with the WASD keys, then I have to take my hands off the controls to get to the key to shoot. Up/W to jump is intuitive for your players.

Use space bar for the jump. Then, your players can use both hands if necessary.

I am working on that atm, because one of my friends noticed that if you keep the space bar pressed for too long the page scrolls down :) thx for the input.

Well, now I know why I'm single. x)

You and me both, pal! xD

First, please don't submit things that come from tutorials. They count as public files, since they're available to everyone. And when you do tutorials, you're not actually creating your own game. You're following steps to re-create someone else's game, and so, that's why they're actually against the rules. Submissions must be your own creation.

This wasn't bad, as far as it looks cool and the controls work, but it should, since that's what tutorials and templates do. Since it's a public file template or tutorial, it will be removed.

Keep working at creating things. Just make it all your own.

Also, please don't submit unfinished things to the Portal. If people submit unfinished things, then this will become an unimpressive site. Would you hang out on a site where none of the movies or games are completed? Think about it.

If you want feedback, tips, and ideas, that's fine, but this isn't the best place for this. The Portal is for finished items. The Forums are what you want. Load this into your Dumping Grounds. If you don't know, it's the third icon from the left at the very top of the page when you're signed in. It looks like a bucket with an arrow pointing down. Once it's loaded there, copy and paste the link into the Forums (Community>Forums). That way, people see it and give tips, which is what you want, but it's not in the Portal, filling your account with low scores or blams, which you don't want.

The Portal isn't for tests or unfinished items, tho: http://www.newgrounds.com/wiki/help-information/content-submission

Good luck. :)

Why...? ._.

You've got to fix the crashing. Otherwise, it's not really playable, y'know? :/

starscratcher responds:

I'm using GameMaker: Studio. It's working fine on Windows, but the game's messed up in HTML5, unfortunately. :c

The base of the game is there, but, as you said, there's so much missing. This game is not fun, and is nowhere near ready to go up.

Surtarso responds:

I'm sorry! I just created the account and did not notice these things! Thank you for pointing them out coz that is EXACTLY what I'm after! =))

The dimensions are all messed up and much of the game is off-scren. I watched the tutorial and still don't know how to play because of what's not visible. Please fix it.

slamirstudio responds:

hi, I just fixed it so you can try again

This is a demo, and it has no redeeming qualities. It will be removed shortly.

is look okay though?

This is not complete, obviously, and without anything to do, it's a pointless submission.

Al3xlasting responds:

Sorry about that. I have no idea what I'm doing honestly. I really was just hoping to find some simple site to host a simple .swf file that I could link to another forums to show my friends. I'll promptly erase this post(if I can find the delete button) and move it to where you suggest. Sounds like a more reasonable place for it. Thanks!
