It needs a better turning radius. Many times, I couldn't turn well enough to miss obstacles. Also, add a REPLAY button!

BA4T responds:

thanks
radius of turn is hight = not a too easy game ;-)

Well, the scenery is nice. There's not much to explore, since we can't move around at all. This is not complete, obviously, and without a story, music, plot, or anything to do, it's a pointless submission.

With that being said, please don't submit unfinished things to the Portal. If people submit unfinished things, then this will become an unimpressive site. Would you hang out on a site where none of the movies or games are completed? Think about it.

If you want feedback, tips, and ideas, that's fine, but this isn't the best place for this. The Portal is for finished items. The Forums are what you want. Load this into your Dumping Grounds. It's the third icon from the left at the very top of the page when you're signed in. It looks like a bucket with an arrow pointing down. Once it's loaded there, copy and paste the link into the Forums (Community>Forums). That way, people see it and give tips, which is what you want, but it's not in the Portal, filling your account with low scores or blams, which you don't want.

The Portal isn't for tests, tho: http://www.newgrounds.com/wiki/help-information/content-submission

Good luck. :)

thatpickedonkid responds:

i'm gonna update it thanks

Yes it's boring, and yes, it takes forever. It's called 'idle' cuz you turn it on and leave it running, and then come back and buy stuff every so often.

This game should have a high score/leader board so those of us who have no life can have our names advertised for all to see.

Stats:
Days up so far: since it was submitted. Still up. (2.5 days/61 hours, incl some computer 'sleep' mode time)
Mines: 8
Mines at full 15/15 capacity: 3
Mines at 14/15 capacity: 5
Time to make a mil: way 2 dam long. Still.
Money per miner: way 2 dam little. I still make less than $1k per miner per trip.

Other:
Mute button: Thank you.
Scenery: Actually, a variety of scenery would be nice; randomly chosen when the mine's bought.
Options: A quality selector (H, M, L) would be nice.

GroZZleR responds:

I appreciate you sticking with it. Looks like you're enjoying yourself. I'm working on a way to get even more upgrades and to speed up progression by selling maxed out mines.

Yeah, it needs a lot. There's no scoring, no music, no way to die (I stood in the fire :3), and really, no point to it. I know you know that, tho. Yeah, this is nowhere near ready to be put up.

ShadyDingo responds:

Thanks for your feedback! I didn't know about the dumping grounds and I usually see some junk around anyhow so I just figured it wouldn't be that bad but it makes sense ;) Thanks again! I'll get it there in a few hours or so.

The game could be alright, but the controls are horrible. "What the hell are you doing?!" should not come out of my mouth that much during a game. Many times, there were coins directly over from me, but the game wouldn't allow me to go any further over.

The music could be ok, but the bass was annoying as anything.

The score is irrelevant since the score that matters is the coin count, not the given score. BTW, the score does not reset when you replay, so you keep building on your score.

genevrarose responds:

I'm sorry that you feel that way. The controls are designed that way on purpose.

And the score that the game gives you DOES matter btw.

Thanks for the feedback!

The game does not work. It sounds like it's still very incomplete, tho.

Oshani responds:

it is playable, we are uptading it but its hard when your really new to making games

This game could be fun, but there's not enough time to move things around, nor are there any instructions. :\

OneManSam responds:

Hey Exedor, thanks for playing my game! The lack of instructions was certainly a design risk I took with this game, trying to have it self-teaching in the vein of old games like Mario and Tetris. If there was something in particular you found confusing, I'd love to know, as I'd like the game mechanics to be as intuitive as possible.

I'm also curious about where you felt the time pressure, since the game is designed to give you unlimited time to make each move. So obviously, if there's something that's making players feel pressured, then I'll have to fix that! =)

Thank you for taking the time to give me feedback!

Edit: After thinking about it, I've decided to add a simple how-to-play screen to the game. I realize that I don't even have the luxury of two minutes for a player to learn my mechanics on an upload site like this. The updated file should contain this short screen. I'd still love to hear about the time pressure comment, though.

Isn't this the Run-N-Gun tutorial or template?

Please don't submit things that come from tutorials. They count as public files, since they're available to everyone. And when you do tutorials, you're not actually creating your own game. You're following steps to re-create someone else's game, and so, that's why they're actually against the rules. Submissions must be your own creation.

This wasn't bad, as far as it looks decent and the controls work, but it should, since that's what tutorials and templates do. Since it's a public file template or tutorial, it might be removed.

This has been submitted MANY times by others before you.

Keep working at creating things. Just make it all your own.

Good luck. :)

Raror211 responds:

This is just the first release. I plan on changing A LOT in this. I am adding new mobs, limited ammo, with ammo packs, and wayy more.

Good pictures, but TOO MANY ENEMIES!!

zwltop responds:

Thanks for your suggestion, the enemy split time has been changed

The red bars ruin the game. There's not much space as it is, so add in a red bar and it makes it not fun. Especially since they don't seem to be removable. There was nothing in the instructions about that. Also, 'power bars' were mentioned in the instructions, but were not explained.

The red bars should be removable, like if you build a line on top of it twice, then it breaks and is removed; that sort of thing. But non-removable obstacles ruin the experience.

CodedGames responds:

Great idea with the making a row above them to remove them. I'll think about adding that in the next content update. The only problem I see with that is games could go on forever. I may add a sort of lives system or something like that. Adding information about the red bars into the instructions has been noted. Thanks for playing! Your feedback is highly appreciated.
