I didn't think it was possible to screw up a dress-up game, but congratulations! You did it! :D

Don't submit tests.
Don't submit anything that comes straight out of a Stencyl tutorial.

Newgrounds is for people to display their work, but this isn't your work. it's the work and idea of the guy who created the tutorial. This exact "game" is up here already under different names.

Please make a game! That's what it's for. Just don't reproduce someone else's.

Please don't submit tests! This is barely upgraded from what the tutorial spits out. A rectangle? Some platforms? That's not a game.

It doesn't matter what you said in your author comments. This isn't fit for Newgrounds. Newgrounds is for finished items, not tests, demos, parts, and bits.
Please make GOOD things, and finish them before you submit.

Also, do not respond to your reviews like this:

"daflashprogramer responds:

lol your pethetic because:
1) You havent even got any god damn games so im more populer than u asshole
2)did u actual read what version it is, and did u read the desc or are you that dumb that u dont know how to?"

The reviewers are here to offer a review. That's what they do. Some are helpful; some not so much. What they've said about this one, though, is correct. If you can't handle it, then please do not submit.

Now please tell me that you are more popular than I am. Oh. You can't. I have 5x as many fans as you, and yet I haven't submitted anything. Yet. Why not? Because I don't submit things that aren't finished AND good. Noobs with their panties in a bunch submit unfinished things, or tests, or games with nothing but a rectangle and a few platforms.

If you went to a website to play a game, would YOU like it if the 'game' was as base as what you submitted here? Think about it.

With that being said, I will now address everyone else...

How the hell did this pass, Newgrounds?! WTF?!

I fully believe this is abuse of the Newgrounds medal system.

The 'tutorial' was not bad, but it wasn't great or necessary.

Please don't abuse the system. I'll probably report you for medal abuse. Tomorrow.

Please don't submit tests. This isn't Testgrounds. Newgrounds is for finished items, but if people keep submitting tests and pointless, incomplete items, then Newgrounds will become pointless, and that's not fair to those who work hard to bring us great stuff and make Newgrounds a great site.

No tests, please.

As for your ...game, here's your feedback:
Is your character a ball or a square like some people do, or is it something better?
Is it a one screen level with no end and one enemy, or is it several levels for us to try?
Do the controls work, and the hitbox and action code function correctly, or does it screw up?

You're smart enough to answer these questions yourself. You know it looks good and functions well, but is nowhere near what could be considered a game yet. Keep working on it, and don't submit it til it's done and awesome. Yes, you'll know when that is.

Soundboards in general are not very interesting. Look at your scores. Sorry. :\

So why comment on something that doesn't grab your interest? Seems a little counter productive to me. Haters gotta hate. Have a good day. :)

This game is ok, but it has WAY TOO MANY ADS! One after every level is too many. You milk the ads and no one will play your game.

Newgrounds is for animations and games, not for tests. This works. It doesn't look bad. It's not fun, though. It has no interest or entertainment value, whatsoever. Sorry. :\

This is a Stencyl tutorial. Don't submit whatever comes out of a tutorial. Many people do that, so this is already on here. Do you know how many times this has been put up already? Here's a clue:

http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view /592917 (Remove spaces)

Which looks looks just like this one: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view /592450

And almost like this one: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view /590439

Or this one: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view /593630

And... http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view /594051

But at least this guy changed colors: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view /592752

Don't feel bad. It's a typical noob mistake, since you haven't been around a while. Hopefully, though, this review will help you to realize what goes on around here, since you've only been using Stencyl a short time. People get Stencyl or The Games Factory 2 and they do a tutorial and they decide to submit what they created. The problem is that 75 other people have done the same tutorial within the last month, so 74 versions of the same game came thru. (One person had the sense to hold out.) If the game works 100%, then it helps, but more often than not, the tutorial produces a game that isn't 100% functional.

Listen to what people say in their reviews. They'll offer tips to help improve (well, some will). For this game, I'd suggest changing the jump button. If you're going to have arrow keys for movement, have an arrow key for jump as well.

Next, please DO what people tell you in their reviews BEFORE you submit another game. That way you've actually done something to improve what you have and you won't be submitting the same stuff over and over like some people do.

Lastly, you could submit a new version with every change, but why waste your time and ours? Please finish your items before you send them in. Why submit half a game, y'know? Don't just finish it til it works, but finish it to the best it can be, and THEN submit it. That way, you won't have an account filled with bits and pieces of things.

Hope this helps.

At last! Someone did something new and interesting with Snake!

There are so many versions of Snake already on here, and people submit all the time, with little more than a color change. This is new and interesting. Interesting Tidbits that help, too. Nicely done, Miss Abigail.

Abigayl responds:

Thank you. I was not aware that Snake is a popular game here on NG... tis my first day here (been a member for all of 1 hour :P). I'm glad it's differentiated from the rest and that someone likes my tidbits :)
