Isn't this a Stencyl template?

First, please don't submit things that come from templates or tutorials. They count as public files, since they're available to everyone. And when you do tutorials, you're not actually creating your own game. You're following steps to re-create someone else's game, and so, that's why they're actually against the rules. A lot of the characters in this came straight from the Stencyl files. Submissions must be your own creation.

This wasn't bad, as far as it looks good and the controls work. The music was good. It was actually pretty cool, but short. The jumping mechanic seemed a bit less controlled than I like.

Also, unfortunately, you can't use Nintendo characters in games. Their lawyers contacted us a while back and we had to remove a lot of content that used their characters.

Since it has copyrighted Mario characters and Stencyl content, and since it's so close to a public file template or tutorial, it will be removed.

Keep working at creating things. Just make it all your own.

You're on the right track, tho.

Good luck. :)

@Exedor,

wow! there's a lot of stuff you said back there that I wasn't aware of, for sure. however, I appreciate the heads-up immensely and will make the necessary changes in the game in my second project.

thanks for the critique. I believe it was much informative and it is much appreciated.

Please don't submit tests or unfinished things to the Portal. If people submit unfinished things, then this will become an unimpressive site. Would you hang out on a site where none of the movies or games are completed? Think about it.

If you want feedback, tips, and ideas, that's fine, but this isn't the best place for this. The Portal is for finished items. The Forums are what you want. Load this into your Dumping Grounds. It's the third icon from the left at the very top of the page when you're signed in. It looks like a bucket with an arrow pointing down. Once it's loaded there, copy and paste the link into the Forums (Community>Forums). That way, people see it and give tips, which is what you want, but it's not in the Portal, filling your account with low scores or blams, which you don't want.

Actually, this was pretty good. It needs music. It also needs to have the damage rate adjusted. I jumped and came down on a devil. Before I could get off him, I lost all my life for that character AND the next life too!

Also, it seems unfinished. It restarts right away when you fall, so you have no time to see your score before you're back at it again. So, please don't submit unfinished things to the Portal. Your games are getting to be extraordinarily bad. They've turned into a confusing mess of "hunt for the parts" and puzzles that make no sense.

Don't Use. Shift! It's a system key! Use space bar. Use up & down arrow keys. Anything but the system keys! (Ctrl and Shift)

Hurry up. Hurry up. Hurry up. Hurry up. That's what I kept saying while waiting for the screen to clear so I could continue. The inability to see sucks all the fun out of this game. :\

It says I lost but it doesn't say why. You should make reasons why the choice was bad instead of just a 'you lose' with no explanation. It could be fun with humorous ends.

It needs more levels, as it's very basic. But the biggest thing that's missing is the music and sounds! Some rainforest water and birds chirping would even be great in this.
