Newgrounds is for animations that you've created. Although this is colorful, it doesn't count as animation, and may be removed.

marderchen responds:

its a game? or is newgrounds not for something like this? (current version http://marderchen.lima-city.de/swf_self/MEOW_visu_MP3_player_2_custamable_presents.swf so if its not new ground stuff.. there is no needing for upload..

You should probably save the Christmas submissions for another 4 or 5 weeks. ;)

YowLifeProductions responds:

No.

The story was average, and short, but ok. The biggest problem with this one is that the only stop motion is the small part with the small fish. The rest isn't 'stop motion,' it's just 'stop.' All of it should be animated and have movement.

FelixZophar responds:

Yeah I kind of rushed it. Because I get excited when trying new things.

Then, why'd you submit it? Please don't submit tests or unfinished things to the Portal. After all, if people submit unfinished things, then this will become an unimpressive site. Would you hang out on a site where none of the movies or games are completed? Think about it.

If you want feedback, tips, and ideas, that's fine, but this isn't the best place for this. The Portal is for finished items. The Forums are what you want. Load this into your Dumping Grounds. If you don't know, it's the third icon from the left at the very top of the page when you're signed in. It looks like a bucket with an arrow pointing down. Once it's loaded there, copy and paste the link into the Forums (Community>Forums). That way, people see it and give tips, which is what you want, but it's not in the Portal, filling your account with low scores or blams, which you don't want.

The Portal isn't for tests or unfinished items, tho: http://www.newgrounds.com/wiki/help-information/content-submission

Good luck. :)

Sh4nk13 responds:

kay.

thx.

Why? Because Newgrounds isn't youtube. Newgrounds specializes in animations and games and shuns live action. That's why this will not do well here.

Do you have any animation you'd like to submit? We'd love to see it. :)

Channeleven responds:

I don't have any animation. I don't even have flash.

If it's interactive, it should be posted as a game and you should post the interactive version. If it's not interactive, and is just a video, you should post the video. Posting basically a picture of something that's not what it's made out to be makes no sense, and wastes everyone's time.

paulw86 responds:

I disagree based on these points:

1) The finished format is a video format MP4. Its not a game format such as SWF or IOS etc
2) If you go on youtube to watch a 360 video, its still not classified as a game.
3) In the video there is a animation (if you looked all around the video, there is animation)
4) New grounds have not put in a section for 360 videos since they are not games. That is why I have left a link to the video. My apologies if its in the wrong section.
5) This has opened up another way to animate something and shouldn't be rejected based on one feature of interaction.
6) A game, there has to be some sort of end goal that is achieved with interaction buttons. This video only has a function and this function is to view the animation.

I noticed this got taken down from the section in the "under Judgement". I ask to reconsider your judgement as this is a video.

This is not wasting time, 360 videos have opened up another way to tell stories.

IF anything, there should be a discussion OR debate whether or not 360 VIDEO are videos OR put in the games section as you say.

Sincerely

paulw86

Well, a few things.

1. The pause was kinda long, and so yeah, was kinda annoying.

2. The volume differences! The first part was quiet, so I turned up my volume, which I seldom do. Why? Cuz if I can hear other submissions fine at my normal volume level, I should be able to hear yours at that same level. But anyway, then the second part hit, and then it was WAY LOUD! So yeah, try for better volume control and leveling.

3. The animation in the first part was good. The animation in the second part was more pic to pic than frame to frame; ie; it was less animation and more still image than is desirable.

4. While you didn't say 'youtube' over and over, I can assume that this is an ad for your youtube channel. This doesn't sit well, because of one simple thing that, surprisingly, gets overlooked quite often the fresh from youtube crowd, and that is:

You're on Newgrounds, bro, not youtube. It's ok to post to both, and I recommend that. But an ad for your youtube channel on Newgrounds is like sitting in McDonald's with your friends and saying, "hey, let's go to Burger King; I'm hungry!" Why would you go somewhere else to eat when you can eat right here, right now?

Why would we go to youtube and support you there, when we have a rather nice little place right here, and we're already here, so why leave? Understand?

Yes, please post your animations here. This is Newgrounds, and that's what we do here. And,if you want, you could also post them on whatever that other tube thingie is too.

Welcome to Newgrounds, Randomatedboy. :)

Randomatedboy responds:

Thanks for the opinions. I'll try to fix the audio, just a minor mishap. And I'll make more an o mated skits and stuff. Cuz other than that tube thingie, i love Newgrounds! This is my second account. Also I'm glad u enjoyed it a little bro.

What you have is fluid, and you're doing well. I'd expand on it. It's 10 loops and 20 seconds, which means it's only a 2 second cycle. Remember, they will judge on only one cycle, if I remember correctly, and if that's so, you'll have only 2 seconds of walk to judge.

With that being said, please don't submit tests or unfinished things to the Portal. If people submit unfinished things, then this will become an unimpressive site. Would you hang out on a site where none of the movies or games are completed? Think about it.

Blipsqueek responds:

tnx for the feedback! i'd love to expand on it, but the contest rules say im limited to 60 frames, on 30fps unfortunately.
As for the fact i uploaded this to portal.. oops... was unaware of the dumping groudns for a second there, thx for letting me know, i will definitely upload it to the correct place next time

thank you :)

You might want to hang out around here a bit more and learn what we do here before you submit things like this. Newgrounds specializes in animations, so this is more out of place than you know. And yeah, this won't get good ratings. now, do you have any animations you'd like to submit? If not, give it a try!

skyboundary responds:

I did submit some okay animations but I was pretty bored. I really like taking videos though, so I guess I can add animation on video, I think. I am not a good frame by frame animator but will try harder.

Pretty good. Definitely worth finishing. Add a story and such before submitting. You're off to a decent start.
