"Cant anyone say ONE good comment?"

Well, do you want an honest review or not? If you submit a bad, crappy, or POINTLESS flash, people ARE going to tell you! This is pointless, and that's what people are trying to tell you.

Now, here's my take on it.

Keep practicing Flash and watch more stuff here on Newgrounds. And DON'T try to submit things in the meantime. If you try to rush it, you'll submit crap. If you try to submit things without ideas, you'll either fill your account with blams or with crap. Then when you get an idea that may be decent, people will see your account has lots of low scoring bits and pieces, and they'll think you don't care. Stay away from Sonic/Mario/Dragon Ball Z/Madness/hentai slideshow -type ideas for flashes. They're over used, over done, quick-fix ideas that will bring in low, but passing scores. (Notice how this passed, but has a low score?) They're easy points, but cheap points, and they'll bring the quality of your portfolio down.

So for now, keep practicing and watch and play stuff on Newgrounds to get ideas. Don't stick to the Top 50 or the stuff that was just submitted. Search out things with scores above 3.50, and things on the pages that are further back than the main page. Take a run thru my favorites. There's good stuff there. Fill your mind with memories.

Eventually, one memory will build on another memory and you'll come up with an original story or idea. Also, listen to music. Not just rock or hip hop or metal or whatever you normally listen to, but mix it up a bit. Eventually, you might hear a song and an idea will pop into your head as you listen. Many songs tell stories that can be animated. Even songs with no words. Ever see the movie Fantasia? All music, no words, great stories.

That's how I came up with all my ideas. Unfortunately, I've been unable to get a copy of Flash so far, so my ideas are still stuck in my head instead of posted here on Newgrounds for you all to see.

When you get an idea, PUT MAJOR TIME INTO IT! If you can get it done in a day, you're not done. If it takes you a week, you're probably still not done. I've seen many good ideas that passed but have horribly low scores because they got an idea, belted out a quick animation, submitted it, and now they're stuck with a low score on a crappy flash that was originally a great idea and could've been awesome, but they ruined it by rushing. Taking extra time to take it from good to great will ALWAYS pay off.

Does that count as a 'good' comment?

Metal Gear's ok!

It's the Dragon Ball Z, Sonic, and Naruto flashes that can go away. :)

O. M. G...

The mouse was so cute! :D

Welcome to Newgrounds.

Please enjoy your stay here at Newgrounds. Here's some advice to help you settle in.

1. Don't mention Youtube or ask about subscribing. We're not fans of Youtube here, so it's bad juju to spout off about Youtube. Lots of crap comes over here from Youtube, which is why we don't like them.

2. Don't submit anything less that your best. We only want good stuff here, and so don't submit crappy stuff.

3. Feel free to watch and play what's here. Enjoy, but don't be a jerk by submitting bad animations. We have a few jerks around already. Please don't be one of them.

;)

Worth the wait!

Well done, Jonathan! Another great one.

But how can I dislike the 'evil' chicks when they're so darn cute?! :)

Can't wait til Spud 3!

:D THANKS!

What you didn't think of...

If someone wants to find you or your flash, they can't.

With an author name of 00101001010, and flash names of 00100101010 and so on, these are unsearchable in the Newgrounds search. Whether they search for title or for author, they'd have to remember the correct sequence of 0 and 1 to have the search locate it. Any error results on "No items found."

Sux, doesn't it?

Um...

Type 1 for 'yes' and 0 for 'no'.

:)

The Tardis doesn't fall.

It materializes. Neg points for not using the Tardis sound. Neg points for not using the Dr Who music. (Tom Baker FTW!)

While he was standing there with the sillouettes in the background, I realized something...

Robclock sure is shaped oddly like Strawberryclock.

Series 5, Episode 1- The Eleventh Hour: The TARDIS falls from the sky.

The music cue used is from 'Every Planet, Every Star', and it is in fact Doctor Who music. http://bit.ly/o5zfWg

and your opinion on the shape relation of a human head to a strawberry is entirely inconsequential.

Gold star for homework.

It has choppy animation, but that's expected, and not a big problem. It has no music, but the assignment didn't necessarily require music, so that's understandable. It had small, quick story but not really any plot, but didn't require any. For homework, this was not bad. -for homework. As homework, it was good, so I gave you 1 gold star. As a Newgrounds flash, well...

Newgrounds requires more. So basically, we have a flash that's less than 5 seconds long, with choppy animation, no sound or music, and barely any story or plot. Hmmm... So when I put it like that, maybe you can understand why I say I had to give this one a 0/5. It's short, kinda pointless, and has all that you needed for homework, but none of the things that it needs to stay on Newgrounds. Sorry.

Please dont submit pointless items to Newgrounds. They're good for you to start out on as you learn, but they're not the quality of things we want to have here on Newgrounds. They're best kept at home.

:)

Dood!

You're a cool, but creepy little kid!

Just so you know. :D

It works.

It has choppy animation, but that's expected, and not a big problem. It has no music, but the assignment didn't necessarily require music, so that's understandable. It had no story or plot, really, but didn't require any. For homework, this was not bad. -for homework. As homework, it was good, so I gave you 1 gold star. As a Newgrounds flasah, well...

lol i agree it's definitely pointless i just thought i'd give it a shot in submitting it. it's not my first time submitting something on here, but it is the first time it passed the initial voting stage so i'm taking that as an accomplishment and using the vibe to fuel my next project. thanks for the honest review by the way, and i hope to have your input on my next animation :)
