Isn't this a Construct2 tutorial? Or a template?

Please don't submit things that come from tutorials. They count as public files, since they're available to everyone. And when you do tutorials, you're not actually creating your own game. You're following steps to re-create someone else's game, and so, that's why they're actually against the rules. Submissions must be your own creation.

Templates are similar, in that they're a basic game that's already set up with code and sprites, but you then have to go and add your own touch to it before it's considered finished.

This wasn't bad, but but it wasn't great, and since it's a public file template or tutorial, it will be removed.

Keep working at creating things. Just make it all your own.

Also, please don't submit unfinished things to the Portal. If people submit unfinished things, then this will become an unimpressive site. Would you hang out on a site where none of the movies or games are completed? Think about it.

If you want feedback, tips, and ideas, that's fine, but this isn't the best place for this. The Portal is for finished items. The Forums are what you want. Load this into your Dumping Grounds. If you don't know, it's the third icon from the left at the very top of the page when you're signed in. It looks like a bucket with an arrow pointing down. Once it's loaded there, copy and paste the link into the Forums (Community>Forums). That way, people see it and give tips, which is what you want, but it's not in the Portal, filling your account with low scores or blams, which you don't want.

The Portal isn't for tests or unfinished items, tho: http://www.newgrounds.com/wiki/help-information/content-submission

Good luck. :)

Isn't this a Stencyl template? Or a tutorial?

This wasn't bad, as far as it looks ok and the controls work, but it should, since that's what tutorials and templates do. This game has already been submitted MANY times already, tho. Since it's a public file template or tutorial, it will be removed.

Good luck. :)

It's not a horrible game, and for a first, it's good. Still, the overheat part has always pissed me off in games. This one overheats very fast, and so that's annoying.

Keep at it. Play games and watch movies here and you'll get plenty of material for new ideas and future projects. Keep at it and don't get discouraged. :)

deadvelvet responds:

I feel that the main challenge I wanted to present to the player was having enemies spawn, not in massive numbers, maybe a maximum of 3-4 at a time, which would cause the player to have to think very carefully about where they place their lasers.

If that just isn't working for you, then perhaps there are things that I definitely need to reconsider when working on my next project. Thank you for your encouragement and criticism, it is very helpful.

It should be playable here WITHOUT a user key being necessary.

Napastudios responds:

Okay, i will completed the game and upload the completed edition, without a user key to play.

Well, it's not bad, but it's not ready to be put up yet.

It doesn't feel like I'm playing a game. It feels like I'm cleaning someone's house.

Isn't this a Stencyl tutorial? It has a lot of assets from Stencyl's library, which ultimately is not allowed. Also, the use of Crash Bandicoot is not allowed, since he's a copyrighted character.

- Do not submit movies or games made from public .FLA files (such as tutorials).
- Your game must not use Angry Birds or Super Mario Bros. characters/sprites. In general you shouldn't be using any sprites you don't own.

Keep at it. Just make sure what you use is all your own stuff. :)

chrischrome75 responds:

Oh sorry i didnt realize that, I just have one question, i know i didnt do this before but what happens if i state the owner of crash bandicoot(Naughty dog&Universal interactive) and the owner of the tilesets(Stencyl). Will that still be cconsidered copyright infringment(sorry for spelling but im typing on my phone)

When I die, there's no replay button. Add that and this will be much better. :)

melusinesoftworks responds:

Thanks for the feedback :D
You can restart by pressing "R" it's written above the score when you die :D

EDIT:
We added a restart button to make it more easier for the player

There's no game here. Just a message that says to play it on another site.
