Good, but problems?

I played it several times. I found ...problems?

It wouldn't let me move up or down, only left and right. Sometimes, it stopped responding altogether, no up/down or left/right. Sometimes it wouldn't let me place bombs.

otherwise, great.

You are unable to swap blocks vertically in this game.

Lotsa fun!!

The only problem I might note is that I was on the Ice Stage, and the white crosshairs for the cursor matched in with the white/light blue ground. It was hard to aim, thinking the cursor is across the screen, then he suddenly turns around because it was close to him. Having the money disappear, or not having enough time to collect it after the last enemy is dead, was kinda a bummer too.

Otherwise, great. :D

xdragonx10 responds:

I've heard the ice complaint a few times, might change it.

I've responded to the money thing a few times, look through the previous replies.

The game is cool, however...

The targeting system needs to go. If you tell it to target stronger, tanks are targeted and men walk thru. If you choose weaker, then it has to kill ALL the men first, and by that time, the tanks are half way (or more) thru the field. Further/Closer doesn't seem to affect anything. They still shoot at the far tank and let the guy walk into the base.

As for the tower limit, scrap that too. It doesn't work; we're still able to buy towers after we hit the limit. But that's ok. How anyone can win with only 8 towers is beyond me, especially with the targeting system how it is. The only thing I can think of is that it slows the script down as more towers are added, which is true.

As for the freezing problem, people need to put some money into upgrading their computers. Mine is an ok computer, and it was running slow as I got toward the end and had many towers and enemies on screen. It never froze, but it did run slow and/or 'pause' a lot as I had lots of action going on, but I've got 1.73 GB RAM in mine. If your game is freezing, buy more memory. Or a new computer.

Other than these few things, I thought the game was great.

chad-duncan responds:

Yeah, the limit was only in place because I feared that the game would lag on some computers (although I reduced framerate problems later when the game was almost done).

The biggest complaint for the game seems to be the targeting system so far. The only reason why I didn't improve it was to force players to take advantage of controlling towers among other things. Clearly, not everyone likes that. I suppose I can work on the targeting system and at least make it perfect for easy mode or something similar.

Good...

But the Boss can't be killed.

RadicalJodward responds:

Which boss? i have beaten all 3 in testing, the last is v difficult but dooable.

HOW TO BEAT THE 1ST BOSS:

You shoot more quickly the closer you are to the target.

When very close to the boss, hold down spacebar and you will very quickly unload all your ammo into him.

The 1st boss takes about 200 hits to kill, but at point blank this shouldn't take too long.

Get underneath it and fire into its belly point blank, after a hundred and something shots it turns red, you will now need to get above the boss or stay very near to its rear to avoid being hit as its moovement will switch to swooping down rather than up.

If you run out of ammo a pickup will appear on screen.
Sometimes it will appear behind the bosses current location. In this case, simply wait for it to moove.

I got to the lab...

But everything's in Spanish, so I don't know what to do.

The people below me are rude. But they have a valid point. We can't understand what the game says. The addition of Engllish would help greatly. :)

CafeCafeGames responds:

In this game you have to find items and solve some puzzles to receive more clues for the next step.
I'll update the description with all translations needed to solve the game.
Thanks for your review.

Looks good. Plays bad.

Fires WAY too slow. And what's the point of the red firing line if the shells don't follow it? They curve off in gravity. Range is too low as well.

JordanBrown responds:

I'll lower the default reload time to help a bit. About the aiming line, that is mainly helpful in multiplayer when aiming with the keyboard, I never thought about disabling it in single player - it'll probably be better if I do, thanks! As for range, it starts that way because as your base "researches" upgrades, your missiles gain speed - if they started will full range, increasing the speed wouldn't have much effect.

Nope.

It doesn't 'work.' Tried several times. Not once did it remove my card. So I tried picking a main card and a backup card. It still left both in there!

biohasard responds:

sorry I used an old version try again and it should work

Great!

It's a cool game! The music is awesome!

Can you give me mmore info about the music? The title? The loop name? I went to Melody Loops com. Any info you have could help greatly in finding it.

Thanks! :)

mindlesslabs responds:

Thank you, I'm happy you enjoy Sequence :)
The loop's name is "In nature away" on melodyloops.

Have fun!
Ron

Ha! I smoked you all!

I got to level 42, and then I got bored.

The tracking was rough. If you hit the aliens, does the tracking get progressively worse?

MaxManning responds:

Level 42, now that's what I call a flash gamer!

The tracking does get worse if you don't keep up with it. You can't just go out there and let it rule your world. Keep it in check and you'll be fine.

Nice score my friend!

At last...

Someone's finally made a decent version of this game! This was fun. :D

lbwebgames responds:

Hahaha well im glad you liked it!
Thanks for playing!
