Please don't submit tests. This is pointless. What if it passes? Then it'll be a pointless ...thing floating around Newgrounds forever. That's not what Newgrounds is for. The rules on the submit page even tell you not to submit pointless items (10th on the list).

Welcome to Newgrounds, but yeah, please only submit finished items. :)

TheEighthWonder responds:

I said that this might be worked on. I will be making another game similar to this one. But thanks Simon Cowell. >.>

Please don't submit tests! This is nowhere near finished. It's one screen and then ...another screen, and that's it.

I know you said in the comments that it's a test. That doesn't matter. This doesn't belong here. This isn't Testgrounds.

Really. They're not trying to rag on you. They're telling you that you didn't make the best decision to release this now. Are they wrong? No. If everyone submits unfinished bits and pieces, how will we know what's what? When you click on a link for a game, you expect to play a game, right? Newgrounds is the only website that doesn't check to see if something is finished before it gets submitted. Now that it's here, now what? You can delete it only by sending a request to Wade. Otherwise, it'll forever be an unfinished bit floating around here, and that's not what Newgrounds is for.

Please only submit finished items.

simplyentertaining responds:

Ok, it's just I wanted to test sound...It doesn't work.I can't delete it (It's not in the new design) and the game is almost done.

It's not a game if you don't have a scoring system, or any way to win or lose.

holyhelltv responds:

you can lose. get hit 3 times.

The music is good. The idea is good. There's just not enough time. How can I click on 50 squares in 30 seconds when their score decreases with time? Also, sometimes there is only one square on the screen for me to click, and I need to click two per second.

anlglgr responds:

level time is gonna be changed. i get that! thanks

I liked it! I haven't played 1. I wish the typed words at the bottom would go faster. I also wish you wouldn't have turned off the right-click function so I could adjust the quality if need be. I didn't need the hints, but I like the way you give hints, but not spell it all out. Nice. :)

ImpendingRiot responds:

Thanks! I'm going to include an option in Myosotis 3 to turn off the typewriter effect and to adjust the quality. Cheers for the input, it's appreciated :)

This so close to being good, but it's just not good. Yet.

1. The font for the upgrades is unreadable. Change it to a standard font.

2. Get rid of the red ones. It's impossible to miss them sometimes without letting a green one thru. The red one should GIVE you a life when they get thru. That would make it worth missing a green one.

3. Reset the ball faster, and set it that if the power is 0 then the ball doesn't shoot until the next click is registered. Often, I'd click before the green ball was off the screen, so when the new one showed up, the computer registered me having already clicked, but wouldn't grow my power. Once I release the mouse button, the ball just falls straight down. If I'd clicked again, the next one does the same thing.

4 Add a NEXT button after each level. The game says it's paused, but it's not. When I get to the upgrade screen, the squares start coming anyway.

5. Give me more lives! 3 balls/lives? That makes the game too quick. Every game is all of level 1 and part of level2. That's it. Give me 20 so I can take some damage and still keep playing.

6. The words that come up in the background fade out too fast. It's difficult or impossible to read them before they go away; especially if enemies are coming and you have to look at them.

The music is good. The idea for the game is good. The graphics are good. There are just some things that aren't right yet.

AcaSuvak responds:

Thanks for the review Exedor! :)

This game is so awesome! it's cool to watch and to play. It reminds me of the video "Beyond The Mind's Eye" which was cool. This was great...until the extra-long jumps come. They are so annoying and difficult that they negatively affected your score. If you add yellow track to indicate that they're coming, it'd help, but I'd rather see them removed as they suck a lot of the fun out of the game. I stopped at level 21. :\

playchilla responds:

Yes other people say that to, will try to give user a heads up for the long jumps.

Hi. Welcome to Newgrounds.

Don't submit tests. This isn't Testgrounds. Newgrounds is for people to show their finished items. This isn't finished, so why submit a part or a bit, y'know?

The problem is not if it's bad, but rather if it's good. When it's bad, it gets a low score and gets blammed and is forgotten and gone. Done.

If it's a 'good' piece, then people get confused and may pass it. The problem is that then we've got a fragment of a piece of a bit of a game floating around newgrounds forever, and what's the point of that? That's not what Newgrounds is about.

What's here isn't bad. But if it passes, it'll be forever unfinished, because if you complete this into a full game, you'll submit the finished item as a separate item and we'll have both finished and unfinished items floating around here, and that's not what Newgrounds is for.

It's not bad. Just, please send thru completed items. :) Finish, THEN submit.

AriWaveDev responds:

good point but to be totally clear, if this passes, is it that i can then not change the swf for an updated version in any way? only submit a new separate version?... does that also work the same way when its only being set to be privately viewed? if so i understand your concern, loads of unfinished bits of games all over the place cannot be a good thing i agree!

Don't submit unfinished things. What's the point of that anyway? Would you expect good remarks if you sent thru a half-finished homework assignment? Not really. How about half-cooked dinner? Not. So why submit bits and pieces here? Please don't.

Finish THEN submit. :)

TGAMES901 responds:

i'm just seeing what i could do to improve it from the reviews. but i see what your saying. :D

This is a Stencyl tutorial. Don't submit whattever comes straight out of a tutorial. Many people do that, so this is already on here. Do you know how many times this has been put up already? Here's a clue:

http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view /592917

Which looks looks just like this one: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view /592450

And almost like this one: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view /590439

But at least this guy changed colors: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view /592752

Don't feel bad. It's a typical noob mistake, even though you've been around a while. Hopefully, though, this review will help you to realize what goes on around here, since you've only been using Stencyl a short time. People get Stencyl or The Games Factory 2 and they do a tutorial and they decide to submit what they created. The problem is that 75 other people have done the same tutorial within the last month, so 74 versions of the same game came thru. (One person had the sense to hold out.) If the game works 100%, then it helps, but more often than not, the tutorial produces a game that isn't 100% functional.

Listen to what people say in their reviews. They'll offer tips to help improve (well, some will). For this game, I'd suggest changing the jump button. If you're going to have arrow keys for movement, have an arrow key for jump as well.

Next, please DO what people tell you in their reviews BEFORE you submit another game. That way you've actually done something to improve what you have and you won't be submitting the same stuff over and over like some people do.

Lastly, you could submit a new version with every change, but why waste your time and ours? Please finish your items before you send them in. Why submit half a game, y'know? Don't just finish it til it works, but finish it to the best it can be, and THEN submit it. That way, you won't have an account filled with bits and pieces of things.

Hope this helps.

Mikeaphobia responds:

Thank you SO much for your review, it has helped a lot, i will try to make a better game next time :)
