Ha! That was a riot!
I suppose that at one point in time, the clock flashes were good. As people saw that the clock flashes always made it through the portal, they started voting before the flash was done. As time went on, the quality got less and less, but without people watching the flash before they vote, they never realized that crap was coming thru. Thus, today we are stuck in this loop of crap getting thru because "clocks always get thru so I better vote to keep it so I can get my protection point, right?"
If you notice, when there's a clock colab, the best vid will always be the first button in the list. They know that people will look at the first button and then vote. If anyone ever looks at the other buttons before they vote, it's more likely to be blammed. That's why they mostly get thru with a score of mid to high 2's or low 3's. Those who watched it all voted low, and those who didn't ...didn't.
You'll also notice that there're always several clock names in the author list. They do that so they can get high success points, whether they worked on the flash or not.
Look up a flash called "A New Power Gains Motion" by Lance Beier here on Newgrounds. If you dislike clocks and locks, you'll get a kick out of that one! :)
