The Calvin and Hobbes hair may have had something to do with it. I'd bet more on the lack of a background. That always makes them look very unfinished.

Her ear looks like her eyebrow... or her ear is missing. Something's off about the face/head, and as the absence of a mouth is a normal thing, that might be it.

All in all, though, this isn't bad. I'd peg the score on those things and not so much on the anthrocat nature of the piece. Keep practicing and keep improving. :)

The DESK is clean-ish.. but the DRAFTING TABLE behind me, on the other hand... Always thoroughly covered in paint smudges and charcoal.
